CIO Summit 2025 – A look back at two inspiring days

Our Keynote: „From warehouse legacy to data acceleration: bank99´s Journey with Exasol & the RED Framework“

This year, we once again joined forces with our long-standing and valued technology partners Exasol and Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) to host an information stand at the CIO Summit on March 26 and 27 at METAStadt in Vienna. As in previous years, the event provided a first-class platform for many exciting discussions, new ideas, and exchanges with customers, partners, and interested trade visitors.

A particular highlight was this year's keynote speech, in which we presented a cutting-edge analytics project together with our customer bank99 on the first day of the event:

Presentation content:

• The project: Building a complete banking DWH from scratch with an end-to-end reporting solution and AI support within one year.
• Technical implementation: Replacement of the existing DWH landscape with the innovative Exasol-RED tech stack.
• Project components: Integration of all data sources, historization, fine-grained security, consolidation into a star model, and integration of a powerful BI tool.
• Advantages of the tech stack: Very short integration phase for new sources, out-of-the-box security, and a DWH-as-code architecture that ensures maximum efficiency.

The keynote speech given jointly by Günther Balatka (Product Owner Datalake, bank99) and Thomas Petrik (Head of Technology Consulting & Member of the Management Board, Sphinx) met with great interest from the audience.

The presentation convincingly demonstrated how a complete banking DWH can be set up within just one year and how, with the help of the smart infrastructure of our RED solution tech stack, maximum compliance for “(near) real-time reporting” can be achieved with minimal complexity in the data warehouse architecture used.
