Review: Sphinx at the Exasol Xperience 2025 in Berlin

Many insights on the topic of high performance analytics & “DWH best practice” implementation at our customer presentation by bank99

Exasol Xperience 2025 took place in Berlin on May 6 and 7 - with a clear focus on the topic of high-performance analytics. We were not only present as an exhibitor at the event organized by our technology partner Exasol, but also gave an exciting customer presentation together with bank99 on the Main Stage.

Our team - consisting of Thomas Petrik, Tobias Wenzl and Maximilian Manderscheid - can look back on two very inspiring days at the event in Berlin: The exchange with partners, interested parties and industry colleagues at our well-attended stand showed once again how great the interest in scalable, high-performance data architectures is - and in particular in our RED framework (keyword: “DWH as Code”) based on the database of our partner Exasol.

Our joint presentation “From Warehouse Legacy to Data Acceleration - bank99's Journey with Exasol & RED Framework” by Günther Balatka (Product Owner Data Lake, bank99) and Thomas Petrik (Managing Director and Head of Technology Consulting, Sphinx) was a real crowd-puller.

They showed how a complete banking DWH was built from scratch in just one year - including end-to-end reporting, AI support, historization and security. This was made possible by the modular, low-maintenance tech stack of our RED framework in combination with Exasol's powerful database.

Some key points of the customer project:

Complete replacement of the previous DWH landscape at bank99

• Integration of all data sources, automated historization, fine-grained security out-of-the-box
• Very short integration times and real “time-to-insight” acceleration
• Implementation of a powerful analytics platform for (near) real-time reporting
